How does MyNewsroom.co.uk work?
MyNewsroom.co.uk is an online resource which enables students to create and publish websites. It is unique because teachers can control how and when the websites appear on the internet.
1. Come for a one-day workshop at the Newsroom with your students
Our qualified teachers will explain how to use MyNewsroom.co.uk's online software to find, research and report national and international news. Students will learn how to create and design web pages and how to link them to each other. They will each create a website with at least four pages, including text, pictures and links, with a highly professional look and feel.
2. Give your approval for the websites to go live
If you are happy that the students' sites meet your academic and ethical standards, you can approve them and send them live using your own MyNewsroom.co.uk log-in. If they do not get your approval you can write a comment describing what changes you want to be made. This message will be seen by the student when they next log in.
3. Continue to access and update the websites for three months
Students will be able to add and delete pages, insert new pictures, change their site design and keep their sites up to date for three months following the workshop. You can direct your students to continue to use their sites to report national and international news, or to adapt them for a specific project.
