Links

Linking pages

You can link three of your top stories to your front page. Before you can do this you must design your site and create a story page for each of these stories. Then:
1. Open your front page by clicking on the Web Pages tab, on the top right of your screen, then double clicking on the title of your front page.
2. On your front page, click where it says Headline or Standfirst.
3. Click on the Link icon on the top left of your page.
4. A list of stories will appear.

You will only be able to see stories you have already linked to story pages.
If the story you want is not on this list, you will need to go back and create a story page for it. Choose a story from the list to link to your front page. Its headline and strapline will appear on your front page. When your site has been approved and is live on the web, your users will be able to read this story by clicking on its headline here.

Linking websites

You can create links from your website to any other website on the internet. This is a good way to help your readers get more information about your stories. For instance, if your story is about endangered animals you can create a link to the World Wildlife Fund website.
To link other sites to yours:
1. Open a story page by clicking on the Web Pages tab in the top right of your screen and then clicking on the title of a page.
2. On the right side of your page, level with your headline, it says Related websites. Under this are a list of titles. Click on one of these titles.
3. Click on the Link icon on the top left of your screen.
4. A pop-up menu will appear. Type the address of the website you want to link to in the box at the bottom.
5. Click OK.
6. If you want you can link to ten different sites on each story page, by repeating steps 2 to 5.
7. Click Done or Save as draft on the top right of the screen. When your site has been approved, your readers will be able to click on your links to go to other sites.
