Story writing tips
• The most important part of your story is the first paragraph. If your readers don't find this interesting, they will not read the rest of the story.
• Your first paragraph should summarise what the story is about. It should answer most or all of the following questions:
WHAT happened?
WHO is the story about?
WHERE did it happen?
WHEN did it happen?
WHY did it happen?
• Your writing should be simple and concise. Do not put in any extra, unnecessary words and try not to repeat any information.
• New reports should be unbiased and factual. They do not usually include the reporter's opinion.
