Bloc Party forced to cancel U.S tour
Drummer has a collapsed lung after a recent gig, therefore leaving American fans upset as gigs are aborted.
Popular Indie band, Bloc Party are extremely concerned about fellow band member, Matt Tong's health as he was hospitalised after a recent concert. Mid-song Tong found it difficult to breathe, this was due to the oxygen not being asbosrbed in the lungs, but escaping into the chest. This prevented the lung from inflating, suffocating Tong from air.He is now however in a comfortable condition and is not prone to danger. He will remain in hospital for atleast another 3 days to ensure he has a full recovery and can continue their tour as soon as the doctors feel he is stable. So far three dates in the states have been cancelled, but it is feared and is most likely that the whole tour in the U.S leg will suffer the same fate.

This incident is very unfortunate to the band, as their second album due for realease soon (5th February 2007) 'A Weekend In The City' may suffer from sales as fans are left disappointed, these set of concerts would have been a great chance to promote their music and potentially gain millions of new fans overseas . Kele Okereke, singer would like to apologise to all the fans, and stress that this they are hugely upset they are missing the tour but would never  put any strain on a band member's health, and they hope their fans will appreciate this.
