Young Gun shoots with the Big Boys
Arsenal reserve included in Englands training session after catching eye of England boss.
Arsenal youngster Matthew Connolly 19, was invited train with the likes Joe Cole and Frank Lampard after impressing Steve Mclaren at the Arsenal training gound in North London. Connolly, who has just made his full debut for Arsenal against West Bromich Albion, had just finished training with his teamates when head coach Steve Mclaren gave him the call.
Mclaren and his men where taining in preparation with thier mid week clash against european rivals Holland in Amsterdam. Due to an array of injuries the England Coach invited Connolly to train with the cream of English football.
After training Connolly was asked on what he thought of the days events he replied whilst similing "It was great, we played a few mini-matches at the end. I was in the same team as Wayne Rooney, Joe Cole and Micah Richards. I think i did quite well".
Englands encounter with Holland follows the embarrising loss in Zargreb against Croatia. Mclaren who has changed the formation from 3-5-2 to 4-4-2 has included the debutant Micah Richards who has been most impressive for Manchester City.
