Greener cars in demand
A poll of car owners this week revealed that 17% of people want to buy a car that is more environmentally friendly.
There has been an increase of 11% on a survey carried out for AA Personal Loans. This is a on-going event the Government are pushing. A spokesperson for the Mayor of Richmond quoted: "We have plans to replace a substancial amount of our fleet next year and they will be Euro 4 compliant, which means that they are compliant with the latest environmental emissions standard for vehicles across the EU. We need a vehicle that is keeping with the dignity of the office but is at least damaging as possible."
The percentage of diesel powered cars recently recorded 41.7% new registrations. they have raised to 5.4% compared to september.although diesel is one alternate route to a greener environment. to insure a mercedes Rclass280DCI your average price would be £225 compared to a ford focus 1.8 litre 16V estate which would cost you a mere £150.But this does not justify the right to degrade your car as the toyoata PriusVVT i petrol electrics hybird car would only charge a tiny total of £30 with no need to pay for the conjestion charge.DeCicco, a senior fellow for Automotive Strategies at Environmental defense stated: "Driving green is good for our health, good for our nation and good for our planet."
With parts of the government set to change their way of living it seems to suggest that a greener car could be the new way forward.
