Rooney recovery looking up
Wayne Rooney, England's star striker is looking to recover in time to play for England's opening match in the world cup.
Rooney broke his fifth metatarsel bone in his right foot, while playing in Manchester United's 3-0 defeat to Chelsea on the 29th of April. This injury made the star striker's chances for playing in the wold cup with England very slim, but now, the England doctor Leif Sward has declared that " Everything points to a perfect recovery." Leif tells us that Rooney "has the gift of healing quickly", which is heartening news for England supporters, many of which believe that England's only chance of winning the trophy rests on this young man's shoulders.
At the moment he can put  pressure on his injured foot but only with support from the special protection that he is wearing. Because of the positive medical reports that England head coach Sven Goran Eriksson is recieving, his hopes are high that Rooney will be fit for England's crucial matches but admits that he is thinking more with his heart than his head.
Everyone that is supporting England in this years world cup are all thinking positively for Rooney and have their fingers crossed that he will be in action for the world cup, but for now all they can do is hope.
