North Korea joins nuclear club
North Korea condemned by UN over supposed testing of nuclear device
The International community is in outrage over the announced testing of North Korea's first nuclear bomb on monday 9th, at 2:37am. The UN is currently debating imposing restrictions on North Korea's nuclear programme, and have restricted port entry, and trade of military weapons to and from the north.

An estimated 15 kiloton bomb, the same size as the hiroshima bomb, was supposedly detonated, but some UN experts think there is a remote chance that the test was faked by detonating a large amount of ordinary explosives. US intelligence reported the detection of a 1 kiloton blast, which is much lower than a usual nuclear detonation, which normally range in the several-kiloton scale in inital tests. South Korean officials believe that the test was genuine.

Kim Jong il, the president of North Korea, praised the success of the first nuclear test. The other question being raised by the UN is whether China and Russia - North Korea's closest allies, will take action over the nuclear testing.
US ambassador, John Bolton said "while the US would not rule out the use of force, they were seeking a diplomatic solution to the crisis through the UN."
