Driver flung 6ft as car thief strikes
A 56 year old man was flung 6tf(1.8m) into the air after trying to stop his car from being stolen in a tesco car park in Liverpool.
In a quick and easy steal a 56 year old man was flung straight into the air after tying to stop his Vauxhall astra car from being stolen in a tesco car park.The elderly man came out of his vehicle to use the recyling bins when a thief described as a 'white male around 24' jumped into the car and proceded to drive away, the man tried to stop the thief by standig infront of the already moving vihicle but he just carried on driving and ploughed straight into the owner throwing him 6ft into the air!
The man was taken to hospital and treated for wiplash and 'minor' injuries, and was later realesed.The car was later found abandoned in the walewood area two days later.
Detective inspector Nikki Holland of merseyside police said "i'd like to take this opportunity to remind members of the public to switch of there engines and lock car doors when possible to try and stop such things incidents occuring.
"Although uncommen these are opportunist thieves who will take advantage of situations like these". Merseyside police are appealing for information about the offender.
