THE MYSTERY OF THE MISSING BODYPARTS
Deep in the United Kingdom, a mystery is brewing. Bodyparts, possibly contaminated with HIV, are going missing
Transplant patients across the UK are being warned that they might have recieved stolen body parts. The body parts stolen have been illegally taken from corpses located in the United States. A goverment official heathcare watchdog has named 25 hospitals in both Wales and England that have recieved the bone tissue not knowing what dangers the patients might have to face.
The American Food and Drug Administration (FDA) warned the British government that patients might have been exposed to diseases such as HIV, hepatitis and syphilis but that the risk of infection was small. The British patients needing hip and/or jaw operations are most likely to be the ones that suffer.
New York investigators say that as well as the bodies being taken illegally, death certificates have been forged to make people believe that the limbs are younger and healthier than they really are. One example of this is Mr. Cooke. He died of lung cancer at the age of 95 in March 2004, but on his death certificate, it says that died of a heart attack aged 85.
When interviewed, Miss. Clarke, a highschool student said: "If the NHS is giving us stolen body parts, what will we have stolen next?" For more, please check out BBC news or Google News.
