Blame Me
Stuart Pearce has shouldered the blame for Manchester city's form as they go crashing out of the FA cup to Chesterfield.
Stuart Pearce has said that he will continue to take the criticism of Manchester city's poor performances this season saying:
"The first one to take the flak is me"
Pearce watched his side take the lead after 40 minutes through the Greek international Georgios Samaras who followed up after Bernado Corradi headed against the post.
However, Chesterfield levelled early in the second half courtesy of a Caleb Forlan header which seemed to brighten up Chesterfield and worry City.
Chesterfield got the win thanks to a spectacular 20 yard volley from Derek Niven.
Although it is early on in the season and Pearce has enough time to turn City fortunes round, he knows he has to start picking up victories soon or he will face increasing pressure from the supporters and the board.
Most supporters see the problem as a lack of goal scoring ability Which seems to ring true as they have scored only 3 goals in 5 games.
But, whatever the problem, Machester city have to start picking up points soon, because at 17th in the table and a lack of real consistency they are looking like they could be drawn into the relagation scrap.
