Blair and cabinet
Mr Tony Blair gave his last cabinet meeting on the morning of the 21st of June. During the meeting he pledged 'unswerving support' for his successor Gordon Brown. Mr Blair left the meeting with a standing ovation.

On the 1st of July 2007 it will become illegal to smoke in public places. This new law has been largely welcomed by the public. In a survey conducted by the office of natural statistics, eight out of ten people agreed with the ban.

Dog
Two labradors and one spaniel are to be awarded the animal equivilant of the George Cross. The three dogs assisted the emergency services on the devastating day, July 7 2005.
