Out Break Kills Three Elderly People
Three elderly people have died after outbreak of tuberculosis at a care home in Lanarkshire.
Twenty hours ago in a elderly peoples home in Lanarkshire,three pensioners have died from a disease called tuberculosis(tb).A fourth person has just been diognised with the illness.
Tests were taken last month, and they showed the cases were linked and all of the other residents and staff members have to take test's too check if they have TB.
Residents,familys and visitors as well as staff have been informed of the situation plus the future problems that may occure.
An outbrreak control team has been setup and two thirds of the residents have been screened so far.
Doctors say "Tb is an infection caused by a germ.TB usually effects the breathing system and also in other parts of the human body."
A quote from doctor Jim Miller,consultant of health and medicene said" TB is a relatively rare disease in Scotland and its not easily transmitted."
