Young Gunner Joins The Force
Young Arsenal Player Connoly is featured in England team.
Arsenal Youth team player Matthew Connoly has been called up by England manager Steve Maclaren to feature in the squad travelling to Amsterdam for Wednesdays battle against the Dutch. The 28 squad has been cut down to just a 21 man side, but the youngster is not expected to play in the fixture.
Connoly entered the squad after the withdrawels of Neville, Lennon, Jenas and many others for various reasons, but Maclaren hopes that this revolutionary change will spark to life a currently underperfoming England Squad.
The 19 year old centre half had only made a debut for the Arsenal first team in last months league cup fixture against West Bromwich Albion. Maclaren found himself lucky to have found an Englishmen on the Arsenal teamlist.
On the 13th November Connoly was seen training with the England team in Arsenal's London Colney Training Base, and is expected to add to Englands list of up and coming young players.
Holland v England, kick off 7pm on BBC1, England are expected to make up for the nethargic perfomance against Croatia.
