Bomb Blast Batters Baghdad
Bus blows up in Iraq Killing 20, And Injuring 18.
A bus has blown up in Iraq killing 20 people and wounding 18. The blast took place in a predominently Shiite neighbourhood in Central Baghdad. The bombing took place yesterday and is thought to be a political message from Sunni insurgents condemning the death sentence passed on former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein.
It is believed that the message was aimed at the Shiite Prime Minister Nouri Al-Maliki. There has been a steady rise in violent attacks since the news of the sentence.
General. John Abizaid, the 3rd highest ranking official to visit Iraq this year, met with the Shiite government and reaffirmed President Bush's commitments to "Success In Iraq."
