Doctors discover a new type of cardio workout for heart patients:waltzing.
According to doctors, waltzing improves cardiovascular health for chronic heart failure patients. It has been proved that waltzing can be a better form of exercise than time on the treadmill, or riding a bike.
Italian researchers who studied on one-hundred and ten heart failure patients, found waltzing better for cardio rehabilitation. Out of patients suffering from heart failure, 70% had previously dropped out of regular exercise. Doctors have suggested dancing, especially waltzing, as it is just as effective, and more fun.
Not only does waltzing improve cardiovascular health, and the quality of life, it has been reported that it can help you sleep, put you in a better mood, builds your abilty to do hobbies, and even housework!
Romualdo Belardinelli, director of cardio rehabilitation in Italy claims "We have to find something that may capture the patients interest. Waltz dancing improves functional capacity and quality of life, for chronic heart failure patients without important side effects. It may be considered in combination or as an alternative to exercise training in these patients"
Researchers also found that any speed of waltz can be performed safely without risks for people with previous heart problems or heart disease. This study recommends you put on your dancing shoes, and improve your cardiovascular health!
