A teenage girl has been sentenced to life in jail after the murder of an old woman last year. She planned the murder whilst already in a young offender's institution in Essex. Kemi Adeyoola, 18, was the daughter of a millionaire property developer, however she still strived to steal money from the elderly. This selfish greed resulted in the heartless murder of a defenceless 85 year-old.
At the age of 17, Kemi stabbed the elderly woman to death and left her body covered in coats in the hallway of her home. Anne Mendel was found lifeless soon after by her husband after he arrived home from the shops and a year later Kemi is facing the consequences of her barbaric activity. Despite her desperate attempts to try and conceal her crime with the help of a 16-year old girl, Kemi has been found guilty, and the young girl will be sentenced later this month.
Speaking after the verdict , Detective Chief Inspector Steve Morris said: " This was a premeditated murder which shows an unusual level of violence in a girl so young."
