A teacher was jailed yesterday after pleading guilty to 11 counts of sexual activity with her pupil. Elvira Fairhurst, mother of 2, engaged in a four month affair with a 14 year old virgin.
Their initial relationship progressed after she was appointed to help him with his behavioural problems, and soon changed into a sexual relationship after she allowed him to kiss her. This kiss led to french kissing and heavy petting in a stock room cupboard. The pair then began to engage in sexual activity which occurred more than seven times before they were finally spotted on the roof of a multi-storey car-park by a crane driver. This took place during her break from jury service. As well as having sex with an under-age student, Fairhurst also persuaded him to skip lessons in order for their relationship to flourish, she did this via mobile phone calls and text messages in which she referred to him as "honeybunny" and "gorgeous."
Elvira was prosecuted in Liverpool Crown court where she had originally taken part in jury duty, the day on which she got caught. She has been sentenced to 4 years and 3 months in prison and banned from any future work involving children. When asked she said she couldn't explain why she did it.
