Summers here, exams are over and parties have started but do teenagers realise that the damage they cause can cost their parents millions.
Teenage parties cost UK parents £136 million on average, after their one night of fun, according to Zurich Insurance. The liveliness of the parties has caused parents headaches over major bills due to the damage caused by house parties.
Summers finally arrived for tens and thousands of teenagers around the UK after stressfuful exams and long school terms, its time for them to kick back, relax and enjoy the party season. According to statistics 45% of teenagers in the UK throw house parties and 43% of these result in domestic damage, such as soft furnishings, sofas, carpets and vases being ruined. As well as coping with the stress of bills parents have to take into consideration the effect the party had on their neighbours. According to recent statistics 12% of neighbours have made complaints due to the loud noise. 
Unannounced guests otherwise known as 'gatecrashers' usually end up at teenage parties, who leave drunk and more commonly known to steal valuable items within the house which in turn adds to the cost of insurance for the parents.
Recent articles have proved to show that parent's party just as much as their kids do, it has been shown that at least 31 % admit to causing damage to their own home costing them up to £100.
