19 year old woman was punched by a police officer whilst being arrested outside a night-club called Niche in Sheffield. A full investigation has been launched into the incident which took place outside a night-club in Yorkshire, caught on CCTV, in which Antony Mulhall (police constable of the south yorkshire police force) assaulted 19 year old Toni Comer during her arrest for damaging a car.
According to the CCTV footage the 2 police officers and 2 night club staff attempted to restrain her for arrest. She resisted by kicking, spitting and even attemting to bite the officers. After she tried to grab officer Mulhall's genitals, Mulhall acted in "self defence" beating her with several punches. The first punch was thrown at 2:18:45am and was followed by four further punches before she was stamped on. Her limp body was then dragged to the police van, with her trousers round her ankles.
Though Toni hardly recalls any of the night, she says she suffered from an epileptic fit after the assault, and her face and arms were covered in cuts and bruises. Meanwhile officer Mullhall has been withdrawn from public duties, whilst the enquiry continues, he excepts his actions, but claims they were all in self defence.
