Arsenal out of Champions League
Arsenal are out of the Champions League after a 1-1 PSV Eindhoven away win
Hopes were high for Arsenal as they began the game in PSV Eindhoven's half. They took an early 1-0 lead as PSV defender Roderigo Alex scored an own goal. However he later reedemed himself in the 83rd minute with an amazing header, giving PSV the win with a 2-1 aggregate score.
Arsenal had most of the possession, especially during the first half, but they lacked the ability to turn the numerous opportunities presented into goals. Rodrigo Alex, on the other hand was showing great form, and when Edison Mendez sent a free-kick his way, he leapt over substitute Abou Diaby to put the ball away.
Arsenal captain Thierry Henry appeared only as a substitute after his recent sciatic nerve problems. He looks to be out for even longer after tearing both stomach and groin muscles during the match.
The last eight are now Liverpool, Chelsea, Valencia, Roma, Manchester Utd, PSV Eindhoven, Milan and Bayern Munich.
