WITNESS DESCRIBES DIANA CRASH SCENE
A witness to the aftermath of the crash which killed Diana, Princess of Wales has given evidence at the inquest into her death.
Speaking via video link from a French court in Paris, Antonio Lopes -Borges described the scene when he arrived at the Pont de l'Alma tunnel on August 31 1997.
Mr Lopes-Borges said he was almost in the tunnel when he was stopped by a man who told him to go back because a car was about to explode.
"There was first the car and there was a guy, he looked like an Egyptian, and he told us to go back. He told us can you go back please because there is going to be an explosion," Mr Lopes-Borges told the Royal Courts of Justice in London.
"As we had already had terrorist attacks in Paris, I thought it could be a terrorist attack and I believed we could have an explosion there."
