TWO PASSENGER JETS COLLIDE AT HEATHROW AIRPORT
Investigators are trying to find out why two passenger jets collided as they taxied towards arunway before take-off at Heathrow Airport at 10:20pm yesterday night.
Two planes have collided at Heathrow Airport. The aircrafts had hit each other while taxiing on the runway. One of the planes, a jumbo jet, belonged to Sri Lankan Airways.
The two planes were identified as a British Airways Boeing 747 flying to Singapore and a Sri Lankan Airlines Airbus A340. Their wingtips were said to have collided. All passengers have reportedly been evacuated from the aircraft.
A spokesman for local firefighters said there had been no injuries, "It was a minor collision in between two planes who just clipped past each other, " he added. "There was no fire, no injuries, no damage." Luckily the passengers have been offloaded and taken back to the terminal building.
The spokesman also said that engineers are inspecting the aircraft to ascertain the damage caused.
