Flash Flood survivor tells her story
The British women who survived the cave flood disaster told the press about the death of her fiancee and the terrors she witnessed...
In Bangkok, Thailand on Saturday afternoon a British women, Helena Carroll, 21 lost her fiancee to a destructive flash flood in a cave. Her fiancee, namely John Cullen, 24 was swept away in the flood attempting to get rescue help! Helena was found by rescuers hours after the incident who she decribed as "good men." Here is her story...
Helena and John were in the cave until she heard a loud roaring noise. She turned round and saw the wave of foaming water coming straight towards them. She and her fiancee started climbing and watched in horror the other unfortunate people with the only source of light, flashlights being plunged into the water.
When she was rescued, Helena was taken away from the park with her rescuers. She asked them if her fiancee was alive; they showed her the place being used as a mortuary, his body was amongst a German 10-year old boy, a Swiss couple and their two daughters and two Thai guides.
There was an incident in the very same cave seven years ago, where a Belgian tourist was killed in a flash flood.
