Dallaglio has insisted that England will be driven to extinguish the pain after facing a 36-0 drubbing in the hands of South Africa by beating them in the final then retaining the Webb Ellis cup. After a shaky start in their world cup campaign England have played brilliant rugby and have deservedly booked a place in the world cup final.
England are on the verge of completing an amazing achievement, by being the first ever team to possibly defend the world cup. Whatever happens the team has had amazing team spirit throughout the tournament and has made the country proud by getting to the final against all the odds.
England had struggled at the beginning of the world cup with an unconvincing 28-10 win against the U.S.A followed by the 36-0 drubbing against South Africa. Their fortunes seemed to had changed when Jonny Wilkinson came back to action, with a 44-22 win against Samoa and a 36-20 win over Tonga which ensured their place in the world cup quarter final against Australia.
Many people doubted England against Australia as they thought they were simply too good for them but in this match they answered their critics and pulled off an amazing 12-10 win. People had doubted England in the semi-final as well against France but again they showed their great ability and team spirit with a 14-9 win. Now England's amazing world cup journey ends on Saturday at the Stade du France where they will be glorious or worthy runners up against South Africa who won comfortably against Argentina 37-13 in the other semi-final.
