Found: The New Earth!
An international team of astronomers has found the smallest Earth-like planet yet discovered, just outside our Solar System...
International astronomers has found an Earth-like planet, just outside of our solar system. The planet was circling a star and has approximately the same climate as Earth. The planet is known as Gilese 58lc, it has gravity and water on it and has simliar conditions to Earth. It is even made from a rocky material just like the Earth.

The discovery was annouced today Wednesday 25th April 2007. Through the past decades, scientists have found more than 160 planets. These planets are circling stars outside our Solar System.

As the planet Gilese 58lc has similiar conditions to Earth, the next step would be to begin the search for life. This will not be easy and would require alot of equipment and time.

The planet has a warm rocky atmosphere, it has water and gravity. This could a second Earth. I would definetly not be suprised if there was life on Gilese 58lc.
