Bush and Blair's memo revealed
A secret memo regarding a meeting between George Bush and Tony Blair has been made public, during a crucial period in the Iraq war.
A secret memo from Downing Street has been publicised. The memo included detailed discussions between George Bush and Tony Blair during a meeting in Washington on 16 April, 2004.
According to the Old Bailey, the memo was leaked by a civil servant called David Keogh. He passed the memo on to Leo O'Connor, a friend and a political researcher. O'Connor passed it on to his boss, Anthony Clarke, a Labour MP, via a pile of papers.
David Perry QC, a prosecutor from the jury notified, said that the memo was leaked to make the public aware of the occurence.
