lack of sleep increases obesity
Warwick Medical school has new research sugesting that obesity has been linked to lack of sleep. The study found that if you dont get enough sleep you are hungrier. Lack of sleep produces a hormone in your body called ghrelin and it stimulates your appetite. We know this has been a big problem in the USA but its now becoming a big problem in Europe as well. Evidence gathered from more than 28,000 children and 15,000 adults were used in the study. According to the World Health Organisation, obesity is now effecting one in three children in Europe alone. Professor Francesco Cappuccino would like to do more research on this matter.
