Sony Computer Entertainment Europe have finally announced the release date for the PS3, after years of waiting.

Sony Computer Entertainment Europe have finally set a release date for the new gaming counsole in the Playstation series, the PS3. The PS3 is set to be released in Japan on November 11th, and then worldwide on November 17th.
The new PS3 is coming in two models, a 20G HD and a 60G HD. The PS3 will be able to store save files as well as other files that can be installed into the console. It will also have ethernet capibilities, allowig for easier internet gaming. The controllers will be improved PS2 controllers with bluetooth capibilties, so they will be wireless. PS1 and 2 games can be played on it, although the graphics won't be as good as PS3 games.
The price is higher then peoplehad originally expected. The 20G HD model will be sold in the UK at £340, and the 60G HD will be sold for a whopping £410.
Despite being  more expensive then the Xbox 360, Sony claims that itscomputer system "should be considered a complete entertainment machine and not just a piece of gaming hardware".
Despite all of this, the price may make the PS3 unattractive to some of the market, and also being released behind the Xbox 360 means that the market for a new gaming counsol may be smaller
