Hope Ireland, a group of Christians, is launching information sessions and seminars to speak out against what they believe are some of the lies contained in the Da Vinci Code.
Hope Ireland, a group of Protestants and Catholics, are the release a mental health warning about the Da Vinci Code movie before it hits theatres on May 19. They will expose what they claim are the 'myths' of the book and hold seminars and question and answer sessions to educate people about what they consider the truth that the Da Vinci Code does not tell, and have described the book as 'nothing but cunning fiction'. The organization is supported by the Church of Ireland, the Catholic clergy and Opus Dei, the secretive society that is written extensively about in The Da Vinci Code, and at times written about in a derogatory way, establishing what they claim to be false idea about them. These groups have said that the Da Vinci Code "does not know where the boundaries between truth and invention lie".
Norella Borderick, the spokeswoman for Hope Ireland said "The Da Vinci Code film presents Christians with a challenge and a chance. The challenge is to rebut the errors in the film. The chance is to present people with the evidence for the truth of the Gospel." She also said of the film: "We would be totally against it because of the idea that Jesus was married and because I suppose that people fear that it questions Jesus' divinty."
There are also various websites containing what they believe to be corrections regarding the mistakes made in the Da Vinci Code. These sites and organizations provide people with insight into what they believe, as well as stating the 'truth' regarding issues about God, Jesus and religions discussed in the book and movie.
