Book covered in human skin stolen, owner unknown
A book, thought to be covered in human skin, was recently discovered after having been stolen. The book is around 300 years old.
This 300 year old book, was written in the 18th century and was covered in human skin. In the 18th-19th century, people would often bind murder trials in the killer's skin. This method of binding was called "Anthropodemic Bibliopogy" and was very commen. However, nowadays, this method is so frowned upon, that infomation and pictures on this very case, is banned from some sites on the internet.
The 3oo year old book is mainly written in french, which would explain it being covered in human skin. In the french revolution, this was a perfectly normal act of the law. The book was found in April on Headrow in Leeds. It was stolen in a burglury  in the Headingway area of te city. After public appeal, the police found who they thought was its owner. They arrested a man in his early twenties but he was later released in a technical bail. He was later redemanded in custody for unrelated matters.
Further investigations were carried out to find its owner, and detectives feel it may have been taken from West or North Yorkshire. The true current owner howver, has still not been found.
