Armin Meiwes, a 44-year old computer technician, has been sentenced to jail for life. The German native openly confessed meeting Bernd Juergen Brandes on the internet, and after an arranged rendevous, Armin killed and then ate him in Frankfurt. 
Armin was originally convited for manslaughter in 2004 and he was sentenced to eight and a half months in prison, but the judge called for a retrial now in 2006, convinced the sentence was too lenient. He has now been sentanced to jail for life, being convited of Murder. He met Bernd Juergen Brandes after posting up on internet that he wanted a youth for slaughter and consumption. Armin's lawyer believed the sentence to be excessive, because his victim volunteered to be killed, and although Armin has a "Fetish for human flesh", his lawyer believes he is no danger to society.
A video Armin filmed showing his acts of cannibalism was shown to the court which made it clear that Armin killed Bernd for his own sexual pleasure. Bernd was a 43-year old computer engineer, and he agreed to the idea of being eaten after making contact with Armin on the internet. They first met in 2001 at Armins house where they made sexual relations before Armim cut off, cooked and attemted to eat Bernds penis.
