Drink Driving Blood Blunders
Blood tests used to prove drunk drivers may be discredited
Sussex police discovered that out of 120 convictions in the last three years on drink driving could be discredited or challanged because of the blood tests used to help convict the correct criminals have been titled a blunder.
Nurses specially trained and employed by the police were going into hospitals and taking the blood tests themselves although this is not as the law intended, and has been described as a "legal loophole". Although what was happening in the hospitals was an offence, it does not counteract and balance out the offence of drink driving.
It is an offence, yet many people choose to do it.
It has been said that the blood tests taken while the suspected criminals were in hospital may be discredited as they have "messed up the laws in relation to the 50km/h speed limits, they messed up the laws in relation to drug-driving and now they have messed up the laws in relation to this issue." Government Opposition Leader Iain.
