Double Fault
Britain's only surviving contender crashes out of Wimbledon, and takes with him the hopes of the nation.
After seeing Tim Henman devastated by the mighty Roger Federer, Britain's only chance lay with young Andy Murray, an unseeded and underrated Scot. However, a magnificent straight sets victory over the number three seed Andy Roddick took him into the next round against Cypriot, Marcos Baghdatis. On a huge emotional high after his memorable win against Roddick, he went into the encounter full of confidence.

To the shock of the nation, Murray found himself 2 sets down and in a tie-break, on the verge of losing the match. On previous performance in such situations there was a glimmer of hope, and his chances were slim but nevertheless evident. However, he failed to record a second important victory, and crashed out as Baghdatis progressed to the next round.

Murray now joins Henman as a spectator for the remainder of the tournament, and will have to look forward for next year.
