Gang Punished for attempted Mutli-million Pound computer Heist
Police surveillance resulted in prevention of a Multi-Million Pound computer software robbery from a warehouse in Cirencester.
An attempted heist on the Comstor UK warehouse in Cirencester, Gloucester, on New Years Eve, was foiled due to effective police surveillance on the gang preceding the event.  The tip of has resulted in the gang being sentenced to a total of 35 years in prison for the crime.


The "ring-leader" of the gang, David Thomas received the heaviest of the sentences, 9 and a half years, following a hearing at the Harrow Crown Court yesterday.  His sentence was nearly double the others as he added to his offenses by attempting to bribe a member of the special unit for the value of £50,000 for his freedom. The other members of the gang have received lighter prison sentences: Tyrone Brown, Atilla Kadir, Paul Lewis, John Trip all received four and a half years sentences, all convicted of conspiracy to commit burgulary. Another gang member, Lyndernn received seven and a half years for cospiracy to rob.


The warehouse itself contained an estimated £26 million, and according to police officers on the scen, if the gang had been able to enter the warehouse before being arrested, it would have been possible to fit £4.5 million of computer software in the get-away vehicle. Speical offers are reported to have described the gang as "professional".
