Train Crash Kills 41
41 people were killed and an additional 45 were seriously injured yesterday after a horrific train crash in the Spanish city of Valencia
41 people were killed and an additional 45 were seriously injured yesterday after a horrific train crash in the Spanish city of Valencia. The train had just left Jesus Station in the Patraix neighbourhood near the city at around 1 pm. As the train accelerated, it is reported to have left the tracks and overturned. Further study has gone into invstigating why the event really happened.

One of the survivors of the crash, Cesar Hermandez described the incident. "The train suddenly gathered speed and started reeling from side to side, then it stopped suddenly." he then went on to say, "There was a lot of smoke and confusion."

The event was made worse by the fact that the train was packed with people leaving the district, going home for lunch with their families. A similar incident occured last September, where two trains collided, killing 29 people near Valencia. It also brought back haunting memories of the Madrid train bombing in 2004 which resulted in 191 deaths.
