Simply The Best
Britain celebrates its TV stars, in this internet poll voting for the people's favourites throughout the years.
An ITV internet poll has been voting in recent months for Britain's greatest TV stars. Those selected as the public's favourites will be honoured at an award ceremony presented by Coronation Street's Bradley Walsh. The list is diverse and spans the generations, as British television is celebrated and glorified by current TV stars and those who entertained years before.
The voting has produced a range of household favourites, with such classic comedy acts as the Two Ronnies, Morecambe and Wise and Benny Hill. However, there are also modern comedy perfomers such as Peter Kay, Billy Connelly, French and Saunders, Ricky Gervais and Steve Coogan.
The other classic TV Stars included on the list are Leonard Rossiter, John Thaw, Sir David Jason, Cilla Black, Les Dawson, Bruce Forsyth, Michael Parkinson and Sir David Attenborough. Modern TV stars include Jamie Oliver, Robbie Coltrane, Chris Tarrant, Ant and Dec, Simon Cowell and Stephen Fry. As the voting continues, the list of great entertainers grows and British television is glorified to no end.
