Four convictions for 21/7
Four men found guilty of conspiracy to murder over attempted 21/7 bombings.
21st July 2005 found four men trying to mimic the bombings of two weeks before. Three bombs were unsuccessfuly detinated on the Victoria line train arriving at Warren Street station, the Hammersmith and City line and a bus in East London. The four men claim that their intention was not to murder, but to panic citizens, all denying conspiring to murder. Lawyers have claimed that the bombings, had they been successful, would have been more catastrophic than those of the 7th, which resulted in 52 deaths. One of the men had left a suicide note, suggesting that the initial intentions of the group were to kill and not simply to scare as claimed. Questions are now focusing on how exactly the leader of this group was able to leave Britian whilst facing charges, and how another fled to Italy using someone elses passport after the planned attacks failed. Another two men await verdicts on charges of conspiracy to murder.
