"Miracle" Boy who recovered after a sever injury to his head
Twelve year old Chris Stewart suffered but survived an internal decapitation which normaly kills or disables most people, after he hit a barrier at Alton, Hampshire on September the 24th.
Chris Stepwart's parents, Debra and John, who is a carpenter said " At first I wasnt really sure about the extent of his injuries. He had been knocked out, but came round and stayed awake while they cut him out of the car. I certainly never thought he had broken his neck".
The sever crash left his head from his neck internally separated, speaking and eating is also very difficult for him because his tongue was dettached from the root, when the emergency crew got there the fire fighters spent 90 minutes removing Chris Stepwart out of the vehicle (1,000cc mini) straight after he was removed from the vehicle and the ambulance took him to Southampton hospital.
He had a six hour operation where the surgeon team reattached his head. He spent 19 days in intensive care but now his returned home with his family.
