Boy survives head severed from neck!
Chris Stewart, 12 years old survived a car crash in a race which caused his head severed from his neck. The accident which would have killed him had made an amazing recovery.
Chris Stewart, age 12 had his head seperated from his neck. He hit a barrier on a track while in a car racing on 24th of September in Hampshire. The doctors told John, Chris's father, that they had never seen this kind of head injury because, they said, when it happens the person dies instantly. A team from St John Ambulance and fire crews helped to free the boy, it took 90 minutes when they eventually free the boy. Chris's tongue was tongue was also detached, which has made it difficult for him to speak or eat. Chris had to go through a six hour operation to re-attach his head to his neck. He has now made an amazing recovery and can now swim and walk again. "They told us it would be a year before he could walk but he was already walking after three weeks. The doctor was in tears when he saw him." said John Stewart. Chris is planning to spend this Christmas with his family and he would not be returning to the race track soon.
