twenty four different people went into hospital looking for help and left with a disease they didnt come in with.
twenty four people who recieved blood tranfusions are being tested for traces of the human form of mad cow disease after finding out the blood was contaminated.
The blood came from donors who later developed the disease and have been accidentally passed on to recievers since 2004, where the first two people to show the disease were discovered.
The disease is called variant creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (vCJD), proffesor John Collinge made the assesment and wrote it all down in the Lancet Medical Journal.
The latest victim was tested and it showed that his tonsills had the disease.
this is a worry to the victims and they are all being seen for the dangerous disease.
