The 12 years old boys head that got severed from the neck
A miracle recovery after suffering a terrible injury that saw his head become separated from his neck.
12 year old Chris Stewart got in a chragic accident while he was racing in his racing car,then his racing car slammed into a barrier after going 40mph.This impact of the car tore his skull from the top of his spine leaving him with an injury that can kill or disable poeple for life.
He had to get rushed to the hospital imediatly because his head was hanging by only his skin and muscles alone,after a quick four weeks in hospital he was finnaly allowed to go home to his family who were overwellemd that he actually survived such a extrodinary accident.
He is now on the road of recovery thanks to he occipital-cervical fusion to re-attach head to his top vertical with metal and bone grafts.His recovery has been remrkable and his parents thought that he would't have recoverd so quickly.
Today Chris Stewart, who goes to Neville Lovett Community School,attends intensive therapy at Bursledon House in the grounds of Southhampton General, is now getting on with his life like any other young child he is walking,swimming and is even doing exercises.
