The majority of us fail to take the recommmended exercise amouts, in spite of health experts dire warnings. Our unhealthy actions are resuling in more frequent cases of heart disease, diabeties, camcer and obesity...
According to a recent telephone poll of 1000 people in the UK 67% do less than the recommmended 30 minutes of exercise a day, at least five days a week by the Department of Health.Work is the most common reason for lack of exercise. Other excuses include lack of motivation,injury and obesity which causes lack of self- confidence.
Scots were the worst coach potatoes. 74% fail to reach the 2.5 hours a week minumum. The Tyne Tees region: including Manchester and Newcastle have the healthy habit of exercise under control and usually do more than the required amount. Unconventional amounts of exercise such asdancing have taken an interest to the general public. This includes ballroom dancing, salsa and others.
Aerobics and aqua aerobics came up populars in the poll, and 3% said they would happily try pole dancing!
However you decide to become fit fanatics remeber: your body will benefit from any form of movement that raises you heart rate and leaves you slightly short of breath.
