Rock star in drug scandal
The lead singer of Babyshambles, Pete Doherty is being charged in court over seven counts of possessing illegal substances
The rock star Pete Doherty found fame in bands such as Libertines and Babyshambles. However, after being found holding four different types of illegal drugs on two separate occasions he is facing a jury to decide his fate.

The star has now shot to fame with his on/off relationship with supermodel and tabloid junkie, Kate Moss who has also been in the press recently with her personal drug allegations. Doherty was recently found on the 18th December 2005 on Riverside Close with heroin, crack cocaine, cannabis and cannabis resin (also known as Hash).

Nearly a month later, Doherty was discovered with the same four drugs on 14th January 2006 in a property on Dunlace Rd. As a result of this, a hearing was called on 9th March 2006 which has now been postponed by 2 weeks in order to give the prosecution more time to prepare for this case.
We have yet to know whether Doherty will be prosecuted or will his celebrity status be his "get out of jail free" card.
