Music Downloads Explosion!
Music downloads are set to increase 10-fold by 2010 to account for 15% of all music sold in the UK.
In the UK millions of people download music from the internet, but these numbers are about to soar to record amounts. According to recent research by Paypal, an average UK web user will download 25 tracks and spend £15 on music alone by 2010 and why not? The price is getting cheaper and cheaper, while the websites are getting easier and easier to use.
Sales of songs downloaded from internet sites are predicted to raise to a staggering £379 million by 2010. Contributing to this rise are the fact that the average track price is only 60p from legal websites. Also the range of songs availiable increase day by day and soon will become a music empire. To add to this, music downloads on mobile phones are set to increase dramatically to £200 million by 2010 and picture and camera footage will go up to an amazing £1.14 billion. Paypal spokesman says "The music download industry will grow dramatically over the next 5 years. Customers will shift more of their music purchasing to online services as devices change and digital storage becomes more prevalentand CD use becomes less widespread."
To sum up this industry is at the moment is practically worthless but watch out for the fast growing empire which will make it worth billions!
