On Thursday 23rd 2006, Killeen and Beckingsale made England proud when they brought back a gold and silver medal from the Commonwealth Games in mountain biking, in Melbourne. They had to battle back after loosing 1 minuet and a half to the Australian champion Cris Jongewaard.
Over the last four years both champions have come a long way. Killeen won a bronze medal in Manchester, but sadly Beckingsale was 2/8 of the course behind.
With Prince Edward watching them, the team thrashed the Australian champion, who didn't get a medal.
Beckensale said " I might have come first but I had problems with my bike chain. I came to get a medal, so I'm pleased. But I am disapointed that I had to pull back 20 seconds.
Killeen has made up for his dissapiontment in the Athens Olimpic, when he battled for 5th place but fell on the 1st turn. He has come a long way since then.
