Katie Hopkins rejected the opportunity to be in the final of TV programme The Apprentice and win a £100,000 job with Sir Alan Sugar, she then got given the sack from her real life job.
Katie Hopkins was recently offered the opportunity to be in Sir Alan Sugar's final of TV programme The Apprentice. She chose to refuse the offer due to the possible relocation to London. Not only this, but Katie was also fired from her official job at The Met Office after failing to pass the probationary period.
After bailing out of the contest in June 2007, Katie sold her story to a sunday newspaper whilst being sure to include details of her intimate love life.
The thirty one year old mother of two, who is currently living in Exeter, took unpaid time off from her job to take part in the BBC1 show, according to the Met Office. A spokesman from the Met Office contradicted all accounts that Katie was earning £90,000 as a brand manager for the company. Katie has announced that she is considering taking The Met Office to a tribunal over the decisions.
Katie's failure to commit to her job during her one year probation has been the reason and cause for the loss of her job.
