Turkish Sea Patrols
Turkish Sea patrols have caught 274 illegal migrants attempting to cross into Europe.
Turkish sea patrols in the Aegan Sea between Turkey and Greece have caught 274 refugees trying to get into Greece. This is mainly because Greece is a EU member. it is thought that the migrants came from North Africa and Middle Eastern countries like Pakistan, Iraq and Afganistan.
The Patrols intercepted four small boats and another larger vessel which contained over 140 of the 274 migrants near the sea town of Fethliye and all were caught within three days.
These events over that last few days bring the total of migrants caught attempting to cross into Europe to over 1,880 since the beginning of this year.
