The London 2012 organising commitee insist that their new jagged logo based on the date 2012 will stay. The controversial logo was unveiled on Monday by chairman of the commitee, Lord Sebastian Coe, at London's Roundhouse. Lord Coe says that the logo will help to reach out and engage young people into what promises to be a historical year for the country.
The logo was designed by Wolff Olins agency and cost £400,000. however it has been met with harsh criticism and 25,000 signatures have been added onto an online petition calling for it to be scrapped. The London Mayor Ken Livingstone is among the people against the design.
It is hoped that the logo will help to raise £2bn needed to stage the Olympic and Paralympic games.
