Schoolgirl Suicide
As a result of violent bullying, Sian Yates, a thirteen year old girl, comitted suicide on 1st March 2007.
On 1st March, Sian Yates was found hanging from her bunk-bed in her room by her elder sister. Sian, who was known as a perfectly normal, had apparently been searching the internet and had found various websites stating exactly, in a step-by-step guide, how to kill yourself. Therefore, with the help from these "guides" she then comitted suicide.
Everyone around her, with the exception of her best friend who she had told a few weeks previous to her death, had absolutely no idea that she was even unhappy with her life let alone thinking of killing herself. The main reason for her suicide was because of the constant bullying she had from many of her classmates at Riverside & Enterprise College in Rowley Fields, Leicester where she attended school. The reasons for her being bullied was the fact that she was so intelligent. She had even passed her french and art exams earlier than all her peers due to her mental ability. Another reason was the fact that she had welsh links in her family and her English classmates disliked this.
